With the ease of use found in all WS series recorders, the Olympus VP20 pen voice recorder model achieves a highly realistic stereo feeling thanks to the two low noise, high sensitivity microphones. The new Intelligent Auto Mode provides automatic sensitivity adjustment, and a Low-cut filter removes unnecessary noise from your recordings.

High-quality stereo recording in all environments

In order to securely capture every sound and voice, the Olympus VP20 voice recorder features Omni-directional stereo microphones that capture sound from all directions, even when recording from your pocket. The recorder has low noise, high-quality microphones in its compact slim body.

“Anti-Rustle” filter reduces surface friction while recording in your pocket

Olympus’ unique “Anti-Rustle” filter technology identifies the difference between voice and rustling sound by its characteristics and effectively suppresses the noise only. This removes the rustling noise generated when operating the Olympus VP20 pen voice recorder from in your pocket, to achieve a low-noise, clear sound.

A low-cut filter eliminates extraneous noise

During recording, the low-cut filter in your Olympus VP20 pen voice recorder can be used to cut the sound at frequencies of 300 Hz and lower, typical examples of this being the sound of air conditioners or projector fans. This filter also proves effective when recording outside to minimise noise from the wind. Cutting the lower frequency during recording ensures natural-sounding recordings without distortion during playback. The low-cut filter can be turned ON or OFF as required, depending on your recording environment.

Compatible with various recording formats

Select from three recording formats: the high-quality unsuppressed Linear PCM format (22.05kHz); the versatile MP3 format, which is used by both Windows and Mac users; or WMA format, which has good sound quality even at a lower bit rate.
